    TOUGH WEEK FOR FOOTBALL
This week's Weinkopf.com football pool was about as ugly as next week's MNF game -- Dallas vs. Washington. (Remember when the NFC East was a feared and respected division?) Some of the pool's top performers flamed out, with VivaLas49ers Jason and ClevelandDawg Stacey netting just five games a piece. But their performances were stellar compared to ShadowWalker's 4 and Kenny, the Poor Deluded Pats Fan, who managed a meager 3.

On the plus side, as always, is Dave Coher AKA Lakewood Lancers who cracked double digits for the second time this year and won the week for the third. For a while it looked close, but Mr. Lakewood is starting to pull way ahead of the pack with a 4 point lead over #2 Cris AKA Hoboken Headhunters and 5 points over #3 Steel Man Joe.

Honorable mention for the week goes to Joe and myself for claiming 8 wins on a tough schedule and tying for second place on the week. But while Joe's strong showing keeps him in contention, mine merely keeps me out of the basement -- I've still yet to recover from my miserable 2-point season opener. But I'm slowly clawing my way back, having overtaken ShadowWalker and PDPF -- the ClevelandDawg and Redskin Boy are next!

Finally, a "WELCOME BACK" to Ben "The Steel Curtain" Kepple, the nicest Michigander in all of New Hampshire. After two weeks off, Ben's trying to stage a comeback -- with five wins.

    Keep trying, Benny.

That's all folks -- anybody betting the over on Dallas-Washington?
