I'M BACK It came as some surprise to me to learn that people are looking at this page, let alone that they were suffering for its recent lack of content. But lo' and behold, my friend Ben Kepple alerted me that my absence had been noted on the web. Matthew Rubush, the younger brother of Scott Rubush at FrontPageMag.com ("Hail to the Redskins" in the Weinkopf.com Football Pool) was concerned about my lack of postings on his excellent website, the Matthew Rubush Web. So, having been properly chided, I hereby pledge to be more vigilant about updating this site, even if it's only with links to the latest columns and updates from the Weinkopf.com Football Pool. Unfortunately, the Daily News doesn't archive my columns, but here are links to all the recent columns I have written that are still available online: Taliban John and the Making of a Cause Célèbre - my thoughts on America's young traitor and his impending hero-dom. Time to bring curtain down on Olson -- the latest in the saga of Kathleen Soliah. Days of Infamy—and Moral Clarity -- my reflection on the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Born To Be Mild -- Believe it or not, the last group to claim victim status is ... bikers. Liberty and Thanksgiving -- The title says it all. This was my Turkey-day column. Not much news to report on the Football Pool front, except that after five light-hot weeks that propelled me to third place, I suffered a setback this past week with a piddly 6 wins. I'm still in third, but climbing above that won't be easy. Would love to do more daily posting to this site, much the way Messrs. Rubush and Kepple to do theirs, but between writing 12 newspaper editorials and two columns a week, I scarcely have time to write any more! Will try, though, I promise. Thank you, Matt, for noticing. |
