THE RANT Yes, I realize that's the title of my friend Ben Kepple's website, but I couldn't resist using it for today's blog because it's also an accurate description of this week's FrontPage column, Defund the Left -- Don't Give to Your College. (Sue me if you must, Ben.) My article is a response to an absurd fundraising appeal that dear alma mater recently sent it the mail, reminding me of all that infuriated me about Tufts University. As I note in the column, I will not send any more of my hard-earned dollars Tufts' way, and I encourage all right-thinking graduates of radicalized colleges and universities to do the same. If you want to support higher education, there are far more worthy beneficiaries of your philanthropy than Tufts or any number of other PCUs. As for me, I plan to start sending the donations I would have sent to Tufts to Thomas Aquinas College, a Catholic, great-books-based four-year college in my new hometown of Santa Paula, CA. Another good cause is the Intercollegiate Studies Institute's Collegiate Network, which supports conservative campus newspapers across the country, including The Primary Source at Tufts, which I edited, and which is also always in need of donations.
